Delivery status & email fallback
SMS is a best-effort medium and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Here is exactly what we do when a message does not go through.
The statuses, in plain English
- Delivered — the carrier confirmed the handset got it.
- Sent, unconfirmed — handed to the carrier; some carriers never confirm. Usually fine.
- Filtered — a carrier spam filter ate it. We tell you which content pattern likely triggered it and what to change — not an error code.
- Failed — bad number, landline, or opted-out recipient. We say which.
Email fallback
Any notification that ends filtered or failed is automatically re-sent to the recipient's email when you have one on the event (order and booking events usually do). The dashboard marks it "delivered by email fallback" so you always know which channel worked. Your notification always arrives.
What we do not do
No silent retries into a spam-filter wall (that damages your number's reputation), and no pretending "sent" means "delivered." The status you see is the status we got.
Common questions
Do failed messages count against my quota?
Carrier-confirmed failures are credited back. Filtered messages count — the carrier still charged us — which is one more reason we help you fix the content instead of resending blindly.
