SMS notifications for Shopify

Shopify's app store is full of SMS marketing apps priced per contact. If what you actually need is notifications, that is the wrong shape — and the wrong bill.

Marketing app vs. notifications

Shopify SMS apps (Postscript, SMSBump and friends) are built for campaigns — abandoned-cart flows, blasts, list growth — and priced per contact, so the bill scales with your list even if you never blast it. If that is what you want, buy one of those; they are good at it. We do the other job: order alerts, staff alerts, and lead texts at a flat $19–49/mo with unlimited contacts.

Where the snippet goes

Paste into your theme via Online Store → Themes → Edit code (in theme.liquid before </body>), or use an order webhook from Settings → Notifications for server-side order events — the docs cover both. The webhook route fires even for draft and phone orders.

The staff alert is the sleeper

The highest-value Shopify text is usually internal: the new-order buzz on the packing-bench phone, or the payment-failed alert before it becomes a support thread. Marketing apps do not do this; it is our core job.

Common questions

Does Shopify already text my customers?

Shopify's built-in notifications are primarily email; SMS coverage is limited and not under your own number. For a reliable, owned texting layer — customers and staff — you want a dedicated number, which every plan includes.

Can I keep my SMS marketing app and add this?

Yes — they do not conflict. Campaigns from their number, notifications from yours. Many stores run exactly that split.

Do I need a developer for the webhook?

No — it is one URL pasted into Shopify's notification settings. The docs show the two clicks.

Ready when you are.

Flat price, unlimited contacts. Not another per-contact app.
